Competition will soon evolve: Nissan Evalia vs. Maruti Ertiga

It quiet interesting to see that other Automobile Company are trying to follow the trail of Maruti Ertiga. The new MPV Nissan Evalia is going to arrive soon and will sure make a difference so far in MPVs segment car like Innova and Xylo. Here comparison is being made with Nissan Evalia vs. Maruti Ertiga.

Engine: Nissan Evalia is going to be present only in Diesel engine with 1.5 litre common rail turbo diesel engine, which is capable of generating 85 hp power and Nm of torque.

On the other hand Maruti Ertiga is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is powered with k-14B, 1.4 litre engine that churning out 95Ps of power @6000rpm and with the maximum torque of 130 Nm @4000rpm. The diesel Ertiga has 1.3 litre engine with the peak power of 90 Psv@4000 rpm and 200 Nm torque @1750 rpm.
Mileage: ARAI has certified Nissan Evalia mileage around 19Kmpl, mileage of Maruti Ertiga Petrol is 16 kmpl and diesel engine gives around 20kmpl, quiet impressive.

Price: Nissan Evalia has been brought thoughtfully keeping in mind the Indian standards and the price has been kept between Rs. 8 lakh to 10 lakh and Maruti Ertiga price ranges from 6 lakh to Rs. 8.9 lakh for high end diesel model.

Interiors: Interiors of Evalia is not that appealing it has simple looks with old style AC and other interiors are too glossy, no doubt the dashboard is very useful but less attractive. Personally, Ertiga interiors are bit better and dual tone finish is cool and takes the points away from Evalia.

Exteriors: Ertiga is charmingly designed to look sleek in spite of a MPV. The LUV thoughtfully reflects in every aspect of Maruti Ertiga. Nissan Evalia poses a decent look from front but it is boxy from side and rear, to say it does not make an impression.

Handling: Coming to handling, Evalia has better stance and steering is lighter which will help in city drive. The engine is bigger and will give better pickup. The space in Evalia is also better as compare to Ertiga.

Features and Safety: Nissan Evalia has cup holders at each side of front dash boards,  simple centre console, rear AC vents, rear monitor cameras, integrated audio system with AM/FM/CD feature, central locking system, keyless entry, power steering, tables fixed at back of front seats. The safety features included in Evalia are dual airbags, ABS and EBD, Engine Immobilizer.

Maruti Ertiga has MP3 player with AM, FM and Radio with remote control, steering mounted audio control, keyless entry, power windows, electrically adjusted mirrors, USB facility and so on. Safety aspects Ertiga ensures are two front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, high tensile roof and engine immobilizer.

Verdict: Nissan Evalia is sure a MPV with great head room and leg space and strong engine whereas Maruti Ertiga which has been uniquely featured as LUV is lighter for city drive accommodates 7 passengers the last row is stuffy. Ertiga has gain popularity as when it was launched there was no hurdle on its way; let’s see how much struggle Evalia has to undertake to build its stand.

Nissan Evalia vs. Maruti Ertiga is going to be tough as Ertiga is really a value for money car for the Indian family who are longing to buy a MPV and their dream has been made possible by Maruti foresightedness. The upcoming cars like Quanto from Mahindra and Mahindra etc. will make the scenario different in coming time.
